What is it? Alpha-lipoic acid(ALA) is a sulfur-containing acid present in every cell of the body.

Its properties: ALA plays a key role in producing the energy the body needs to function properly. The body naturally produces ALA in minute quantities. Endowed with significant antioxidant power, ALA has the advantage of being soluble in both water (water-soluble) and fat (fat-soluble), enabling it to neutralize several types of free radicals, since it can act in both environments. AAL also has the ability to trap toxic metals such as arsenic, cadmium and mercury. It combines with heavy metals to produce complexes that can be eliminated by the body.

Principle of action: Dr. Clark uses AAL for its rare properties as a chelating agent for the brain. Being a very small molecule of water-soluble water and fat, AAL has access to almost every tissue in the body and works inside cells. It increases intracellular glutathione levels. Glutathione is the most important brain antioxidant. This is why ALA is particularly useful for eliminating heavy metals from the brain and other nervous tissues.

Directions for use: 1 to 2 capsules a day is the right dosage for most situations.
