The term Lugol has no clinical connotation; it's a proper name that belongs to Monsieur Lugol-Jean Guillaume Auguste, born in 1786 and a French physician at the Hôpital Saint-Louis.

Main generally recognized properties of iodine in the form of Lugol's iodine (there are many more!):

• Fluidifies blood and activates circulation.
• First powerful antiseptic treatment.
• Taking it regularly helps remove pollutants such as lead and mercury, and increases excretion of fluorinated, brominated and chlorinated derivatives.
• Effective in removing pathogens from food (sterilization) and ingested food (the alimentary bolus).
• Anti-poison: miasmatic poisoning, neutralizing action against venoms, curare, strychinin and other poisons.
• Epidemic diseases, even viruses.
• Respiratory diseases.
• Stops all putrid fermentations, all putrefactions, purifies the pu.
• Helps repair the bone system.
• Antiscofulosis (tuberculosis, even bone).
• 12 drops of Lugol's solution are recommended against salmonella.
• Could act as a preventive and curative agent for certain diseases.

Iodine removes chemical toxins from the body, such as lead, fluoride and mercury, in addition to biological toxins, and helps strengthen the immune system. Iodine also prevents the proliferation of harmful bacteria in the stomach.

Lugol is a component of Dr Clark Intestinal Program.

Instructions for use:

3 to 8 drops a day of Lugol Clark is a good indication for iodine supplementation. There's no preferred time of day, but it's considered that iodine taken in the morning is better assimilated by the body. If you don't like the taste of Lugol's, you can mask it by diluting it in a juice. If you're taking Lugol's for its antibacterial properties (in case of infection, e.g. gastroenteritis), we recommend diluting it in water only.

If you are allergic to iodine, ask your doctor for approval.

Note: some users have difficulty dosing with the dropper. It's mostly a matter of getting the hang of it, here's the recommended usage:

• Firstly, don't position the bottle vertically, orient it horizontally.
• Tilt the bottle slightly to the side of the dropper, i.e. the dropper is tilted slightly downwards.
• Shake the bottle gently. If nothing comes down, shake a little more vigorously.
• In a short time, drops will fall, approximately 1 to 3 drops. 
• Turn your attention to the liquid receiving the Lugol. The drops are quickly identifiable in the liquid. Shake again if more drops are needed.
