Properties
Wintergreen essential oil is probably the best muscle and joint painkiller in the entire pharmacopoeia. It owes its reputation as a powerful painkiller and anti-inflammatory agent to its high content of natural methyl salicylate.
Its analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties soothe many painful conditions almost instantly: cramps, contractures, sports injuries, osteoarthritis, arthritis, migraines and more. Like aspirin and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatories, Wintergreen inhibits the formation of prostaglandins responsible for inflammation.
Dr. Clark uses wintergreen oil in a number of his skin care recipes. This essential oil is a mysterious aid that needs further research, as it seems, according to Dr. Clark, to promote the reduction of tumors to "modify them in the form of liquid cysts". (The Cure For All Advanced Cancers).
Recommended dosage
External use: For sprains, tendinopathy, cramps, muscle soreness, muscle strains: dilute 3 drops of wintergreen EO in 30 drops of arnica or hazelnut vegetable oil. Do not apply to damaged skin (cuts, wounds, irritation, etc.).
