What's it all about?

Wormwood - Artemisia absinthium - is a member of the Wormwood family. Widely used in France, it grows spontaneously in the southeast and central regions of the country.

Properties

Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium) has been used since Antiquity to treat various health problems. Its regularly reported benefits include :

• Anti-parasitic: this plant can be taken in cases of intestinal worms (e.g. roundworms and pinworms).
• Stomachic: reduces digestive disorders, bloating and flatulence.
• Invigorating: taken as an infusion, absinthe is used to combat fatigue or during convalescence.
• Antinauseant: soothes nausea and seasickness (or motion sickness).

Dr Clark uses it primarily for its anti-parasitic properties. Wormwood attacks the intermediate phases of various parasites, including their larval stages and worms, and easily penetrates the brain and bone marrow, fighting parasites in these hard-to-reach areas.
